PRE & POSTCARE INSTRUCTIONS
SKIN NEEDLING
RISKS
Risks associated with skin needling can include, but are not limited to:
- Bleeding;
- Bruising;
- Infection;
- Peeling;
- Sun sensitivity.
PRE TREATMENT
1. Avoid blood thinning agents 24hrs prior to appointment, such as alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E;
2. Avoid anti-inflammatory medication (such as Nurofen) 12hrs prior to treatment;
3. Cease use of retinoids (such as Vitamin A or Retinol) 48hrs prior to treatment;
4. Do not wear heavy amounts of make up to appointment.
POST TREATMENT
1. No exercise for 48hrs, or any activity that increases your heart rate;
2. No facial treatments for 7 days;
3. No facial waxing for 7 days;
4. No saunas for 5 days;
5. Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF30+ (minimum) for 7 days;
6. No massage, chiropratic, or physiotherapy treatments that involve laying face down for 7 days.
You may experience skin irritation and redness for the first few days following treatment, this is normal. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, ensure you apply SPF regularly and avoid sun exposure. You may experience a 'microshed' or peeling following treatment, this is normal. Continue use of moisturiser following treatment as your skin may feel drier than usual.
ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
RISKS
Risks associated with anti-wrinkle injections can include, but are not limited to:
- Bruising;
- Headaches;
- Ptosis (eyebrow/eyelid drop);
- Dry eye;
- Feeling frozen;
- Product not working;
- Infection.
PRE TREATMENT
1. Avoid blood thinning agents 24hrs prior to appointment, such as alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E;
2. Avoid anti-inflammatory medication 12hrs prior to treatment;
3. No exercise 4-8hrs prior to treatment;
4. Do not wear heavy amounts of make up to appointment.
POST TREATMENT
1. No laying down flat for 4hrs;
2. No exercise for 48hrs, or any activity that increases your heart rate;
3. No facial treatments for 7 days;
4. No facial waxing for 7 days;
5. No saunas for 5 days;
6. No massage, chiropratic, or physiotherapy treatments that involve laying face down for 7 days.
It is normal to feel a sensation of 'heavy headiness' post anti-wrinkle treatment in the upper face. Patients often describe it as a similar feeling to getting a head cold or associated fogginess. You may also get a mild headache for up to 48hrs post treatment, this is normal.
DERMAL FILLER
RISKS
Risks associated with filler injections can include, but are not limited to:
- Bruising;
- Swelling;
- Infection;
- Vascular or arterial occlusion (blockage or compression of vessels) which can lead to changes in vision and injury;
- Formation of nodules or granulomas (hard lumps).
PRE TREATMENT
1. Avoid blood thinning agents 24hrs prior to appointment, such as alcohol, fish oil, vitamin E;
2. Avoid anti-inflammatory medication 12hrs prior to treatment;
3. No exercise 4-8hrs prior to treatment;
4. Do not wear heavy amounts of make up to appointment.
POST TREATMENT
1. No exercise for 48hrs, or any activity that increases your heart rate;
2. No facial treatments for 14 days;
3. No facial waxing for 7 days;
4. No saunas for 7 days;
5. No massage, chiropratic, or physiotherapy treatments that involve laying face down for 10 days;
6. No make up for 4hrs;
7. STRICTLY NO INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL FOR 14 DAYS.
Bruising and tenderness are common and may last from 12hrs to 2 weeks. You may also experience swelling which may last from 24hrs to 48hrs. You may be able to feel the filler for up to 6 weeks; it will feel like small peas or areas of firmness.
NOTE:
If you experience ANY of the following symptoms post treatment please contact the Clinic immediately:
- Intense pain;
- Excessive swelling;
- Severe bruising;
- Colour changes to your skin.
